Then my parents took me for lunch at a bratwurst haus. The sausages were just my size, nice and skinny, but there were really filling. After lunch, we walked back towards the main square and waited with lots of other people for a parade.

The parade lasted a really long time. I had to stay in my Mom’s purse because she didn’t want me getting lost. I could hear people yelling around me when the parade started. Lots of children were crawling around the adults’ legs too. I poked my head out and saw them picking up candy.

A couple of times I could feel Mom jumping and then candy would land on her purse. Some of them were pretty hard. After the parade was over, we drove back on the autobahn, stopping in Augsburg. I was tired then so I stayed in her purse and didn’t see much. But they said we’d come back again some day during the day.

I really enjoyed my first holiday, and I hope Wellington enjoyed his stay at the Pussycat Hotel.

Dad was eating bird (which he didn’t share with me) and Mom ordered some homemade pasta that came with pig and onions. She couldn’t eat it all, so I gave it my best shot. It knocked me out for a good 24 hours, which is why I haven’t posted in a while.

We left St. Anton and drove through lots of tunnels to get back to Germany. Dad decided not to take the mountain pass because three people have died in the past week in avalanches because there’s so much snow.

We got back to the outskirts of Munich and visited a really big store that’s painted blue and has a big yellow sign. First we stopped in the restaurant for a bite to eat. I was still a bit full from that last meal in St. Anton so I just watched people. Then we went shopping.

I picked up a few things for Wellington as souvenirs of our adventures. I hope he likes them.

Eventually, after staring at the computer all morning they decided it was time to go skiing. We went back to Rendl, where they’d had loads of snow. In fact, it was still snowing, but somehow the sun was shining.

There was so much snow it was piled up in mounds that my Mom called moguls. Some of them were soft, others not so soft. Sometimes the spots between them were scratched bare to reveal ice. Sometimes the moguls were really close together and big and other times they were farther apart and flatter.

After a few runs, we stopped outside the top of the Rendlbahn for lunch. I couldn’t believe how much snow had fallen. If Mom hadn’t been holding my hand, I think I would have suffocated in all that snow!

After lunch, they continued to ski. The moguls were getting bigger as more people skied through and around them. My Mom and Dad decided to ski off piste because that part had more soft snow.

Then my Dad fell over, then he had a tumble where he lost his ski. I wish I’d still had the sandwich to cushion the blow. But I suppose I should be happy that the tetra pack of juice didn’t explode. I did get a little wet from the garbage they threw in the backpack. It tasted like carrot and red pepper juice.

This evening my parents are going to the Schwimbad to get their tired muscles rejuvenated. I’m not allowed to go because I didn’t bring my bathing suit. I guess I have control of the remote while they’re gone.

One of the runs had a black circle. Stuffed away in the backpack, I could hear Mom and Dad discussing the best way down to the first chairlift because piste 9 was still closed because of too much snow. So they took another black expert run, whizzing past all the Brits who were zigzagging the run.

At the bottom of the run after the second chairlift, they took of their skis and got on a bus. It went through tunnels and winded its way around and through mountains until it got to Zug. A lot of people got off at Zug, but we stayed on until Lech.

We were there to do die Weiss Ring, 21 km of linked trails that take you through Lech, Zurs, Zug and Oberlech. It’s a route that is raced by thousands of skiers all starting at the same time once each ski season.

I really enjoyed the top of the first lift that starts the ring. The view was fantastic and birds were at the feeder. I thought about hunting one, but Mom held me back saying it’s a long way down if my jump is too far.

It was neat seeing new places and listening to Mom and Dad as their legs got sore. Today we only skied for a little bit because Mom didn’t sleep well last night. Then they went out for dinner and tobogganing.

Mom apologized for not taking me tobogganing and promised she would next time if it’s open on Thursday evening. I’m really enjoying my holiday and am looking forward to seeing lots of snow tomorrow.

This moring, Mom and Dad packed me up in the backpack and took me skiing around St. Anton, St. Christoph and Rendl. It was really cold and I wish I’d had a toque and scarf. It wasn’t too bad when Mom settled me into her helmet with her hat for a blanket.

The views here are amazing. We’re so high up there are no trees in some spots. And your ears pop when you go up the gondolas and some of the long chairlifts.

Dad was having a good day skiing. He carried the backpack. I was only woken up once when he stopped on a hill and then fell over into it. He said it didn’t count as a fall, but Mom said it did. I’m not sure. I was woken up but not injured. We’ll call it a draw.

We spent the first day in Munich, but my parents left me at the hotel because they were tired. It was a spacious room with a comfy bed so I didn’t mind. In the evening when they came home after supper, they were all giggly and giddy.

I was sleeping soundly when all of a sudden there was a big commotion out in the hall. A whizzing whirring sound went of for about a minute. Dad then walked in saying how his boots were shinier. Mom later explained that he’d found the self-polishing machine just on the other side of the hall.

Today we drove really fast on the autobahn. Dad went 210km/h. I thought he was trying to take off. We went through some really long tunnels too.

Now I’m here in St. Anton, Austria. Mom and Dad have promised to take me skiing tomorrow. I wish I had a toque because it’s really cold out there.

I wonder what Wellington is up to?

I will be the Wellington that gets packed in a purse, driven to an airport, brought on a plane and taken zooming down mountains. At least that’s what Wellington’s Mom told me so that I’d accept my new name.

Mom and Dad were a bit worried he wasn’t going to have a good time, but I’d say he looks like he’s enjoying himself. A couple of other cats were there, but Wellington is going to stay in his room for the first day so that he can get used to the new digs. It’s really nice. He’s got two windows and may even see some cows!

They were gone all day. And it was such a nice day, sunny and winter warm. I saw Moose walk by a couple of times, and Neo tormented me by sunning on MY deck in the backyard.

When my parents finally arrived home it was dark, but still not too cold. Mom surprised me by taking me outside in the backyard for a walk. She had turned on my blinking light that Santa gave me. It was a bit embarrassing, but if it helps her not step on me (again!), then I’m all for it.

I tried getting them to walk me again in the dark on Monday, but I guess their guilt had worn off.

5. slipping on the icy driveway 
6. not wrestling with my buddy moose every day at lunch
7. missing out on my long Saturday and Sunday morning walks with Dad 
8. not having any flowers to sniff 
9. pee freezing mid-air because it’s so cold 
10. not being able to follow jet around

I don’t really have a lot of cat friends so I turn to the Internet and check out where my parents visit. You could spend hours in front of the big screen and find nothing. And then I discovered that I may have found my calling much earlier than I’d thought.

It seems that cat scans can find diseases that the human eye can’s see. When I was first adopted, I was strangely drawn to my adoptive mother’s right breast. I thought at first that I was just missing my feline mom. But then later my Mom went to the people doctor, who found a lump there. It turns out my Mom had breast cancer. That’s why she was home for so long, while she went through operations and treatment.

Then I found this article (copied below), and realized that other cats have this ability to “cat scan”. The challenge seems to be in getting the humans to take action on our findings. Maybe that’s what I can do … be the cat scan doctor.

I thought my breast was bruised and I didn’t think anything else could be wrong

A woman claims her pet cat saved her life – by alerting her to her breast cancer when she was just a whisker from death.

Wendy Humphreys, 52, was bemused when her black-and-white kitten Fidge leapt up and sat on her right breast every night for two weeks while she lay on the sofa.

She went to her GP and was told she had a cancerous pea-sized lump in her breast – which would have killed her if left undiagnosed.

The brave mother-of-two is now set to have the breast removed after undergoing chemotherapy and says she owes her life to her 10-month-old kitten.

Wendy said: ‘I just couldn’t believe it because I didn’t think cats were capable of that – I thought it was only dogs.

‘Dogs can diagnose epilepsy and can tell when someone’s going to have a fit.’

Animals detecting cancer is not unusual as it first sounds. In 2011, German researchers discovered

It’s believed that cancers produce volatile chemicals that dogs can be trained to smell, which could have dramatic implications for early diagnosis of the disease.

Wendy is convinced Fidge has a similar talent.

She said: ‘She saved my life, definitely. No hesitation at all. I was told that if I hadn’t been diagnosed when I was I could have died because of the hormones in the menopause.

‘I am the first one in my family to have breast cancer. I am so glad I got her.’

Wendy and husband David, who have been married for 32 years, got Fidge in May last year when she was eight-weeks-old.

Just a few weeks later the cat started the strange behaviour – jumping up and planting herself on Wendy’s right breast as she lazed in front of the television.

Wendy, from Wroughton, near Swindon, Wilts, said: ‘She kept coming and sitting on my right breast when I was lying on the settee.

‘She would jump onto it every night for a fortnight. I went to see my GP because I thought it was bruised. It just hurt and I didn’t think anything else could be wrong.’

Her local GP told her she had a pea-sized lump in her breast and sent her for a hospital scan.

The results last September revealed the lump was cancerous.

Wendy has now endured months of chemotherapy and will have a mastectomy to remove the breast at the end of March.

She has two more sessions of chemo left – and is determined to beat the disease.

Wendy said: ‘The chemo is hard and I’m dreading having my breast removed. But I am going to beat it, definitely.

‘I have to because my daughter has got learning difficulties and I have got to be there for her.’

She said Fidge continued to look out for her – jumping up to make sure she is alright every morning.

Her loving family have also showered the precious cat in gifts for saving Wendy’s life.

She said: ‘We have had four cats before and this is the first one that’s done anything like this.

‘She goes around on your shoulder and on your back and none of the other cats have done that.

‘She never leaves me alone. Every morning she jumps up and makes sure I’m all right.

‘David knows she has saved my life too. We have given her plenty of food and toys and everything.
